Louis and Zélie Rectangle Glass Plaque - 8" x 16"

Sts. Louis and Zélie, parents of St. Therese of Lisiuex, led ordinary yet holy lives. Their occupations are the inspiration for the patterning in this design. Louis was trained as a watchmaker, while Zélie was a very skilled lace maker. At the top, watch gears slowly morph and join, as in marriage, to one of Zélie's original lace patterns.The couple exchanged many letters over the course of their relationship. In one of the many letters, Louis encouraged Zélie, "Above all, don't worry," which goes across the top of this design. Along the bottom, Zélie's famous phrase, "Carry on bravely," will encourage you and those who see it in your home.
